The pelvic floor refers to the mus­cles and con­nec­tive tis­sues that form a sup­port­ive sling beneath the pelvic organs.  In addi­tion to hold­ing your blad­der, rec­tum, and uterus (or prostate) in place, the activ­ity of these mus­cles helps ensure the proper func­tion of your uri­nary and anal sphinc­ters.  And the pelvic floor mus­cles are an inte­gral part of core trunk support
